Little Sweetie and The Bear

Daniel and Mark have decided that Sophia is their "Little Sweetie" or "Ittle Wheatie" as Daniel says it. And she is that! She is now a whopping 10lbs and a few ounces and is a very happy, intense, laid back little girl. Mark would also like me to add that she has his expressive eyebrows...

For Valentine's Day Bear and I made Rice Krispie treats. He was really into these. In the tradition of Greek mythological heroes he made many of them cyclopses ;-) Isn't he smart?

He had a Valentine's Day party at school and I had to bring Soph inside to it. I say had to because I really DON'T want her around all of the flu/strep/pink eye that is going around right now. She already has congestion and an ear infection. However, luckily she dodged the bullets of all the illnesses floating around the room (so far!) Notice all the sugar these kids are hyped up on before they come home. Whew.

THE BUG MAN COMETH. . .

When Lorenzo, the Orkin man, comes to our house everyone snaps to attention. Daniel quits whining, Eric puts down the videogames, and Mark and I start straightening up. Lorenzo is like one of the family. Not because we have a lot of bugs, but because his bi-monthly visit is the highlight of the boys' day. He lets them follow him around (like he could shake them if he wanted to) with a flashlight and look for bugs, spiders, etc. This time he even paid them each a dollar.

We have received numerous well wishes and thoughtful baby gifts and we are thankful for each and every one of them. Here is one of the gifts that made us laugh the hardest though (Thanks Jess and Sam!):

Sorry for the long delay in a post since the last post. It has been a little hectic around here needless to say. Grammy and Grumpy were with us for two weeks and their help was invaluable.

Here is Grumpy multi-tasking! He puts me to shame.

Then Eric came to see his new little sister! It was very exciting.

The day Grammy and Grumpy left, Nana and Pop and Jake came to visit. Lots of fun was had around here. Nana stayed for a week to help us out and it was much appreciated!!!!

Dan's teachers at school told us he may try to get more attention now that there is a baby in the house... if he is trying to get attention he is doing a good job. Here he is with his diaper ointment all over his hands. I failed to get a picture of the floor and dining room table where he began this experiment. Sigh...

Dan is very good to "Fifia" and plays with her on her activity mat. He also hugs, kisses, and snuggles her. Today he put his play cell phone to her ear to let her talk. She has also got to spend time in the BOX with Daddy and Daniel. Wow!

First Bath! She isn't really into these.

Lisa came to visit us this week for a few days. It's like having an au pair, but one who likes to drink wine with me! She has definitely been the baby hog since she has been here (and who blames her???) Having her help has been wonderful as well. Dan definitely loves her. He is smitten as the video shows...

Lisa and I took Ms. Fi to the law school for the first time this week. She was a big hit. She was holding court all over the law school. Then a legend of the legal world came to pay homage to her! The Honorable Justice Sandra Day O'Connor (the first woman Supreme Court Justice) was speaking at the school that day and asked if she could have her picture taken with Sophie. Well, maybe it didn't quite go down like that, but you get the idea... if Sophie ends up being a lawyer, being a Justice isn't a bad way to go.
